I'm Chris Gilbreath. That's my beautiful wife, Lisa, in that picture with me over there.
I'd be lying if I said I thought anyone other than my beautiful wife, or my friends, really gave a shit about what I do in my spare time. An even bigger lie would be to say I know why I do what I do in my spare time.
And what do I do in my spare time? I write. Mostly music. Sometimes fiction. I've been doing both for a long time. Longer than some of you have been alive, probably. Which, by the way, does not mean I am any good at either one.
I have a great music publisher, his name is Michael Davenport and he's an old school rock guy like me. He's published over four hundred of my songs and he's kind enough to pitch them to TV and film for me. If I'm really lucky, my music will be in TV shows and movies. I've got two film score credits, and I hope to get more.
I have a book out. It's called Starr County Line. Some of you have read it, and some of you were kind enough to write reviews. You helped make it a bestseller on Amazon for a while when it came out. Thank you for that. It's now a screenplay and we hope it's going to get made into a movie.
None of these things will ever lead to me being able to, say, quit my day job and get a boat and sail my wife around the world. Not that I want to do that. I just want to live here in Austin, with my wife, for a very long time and enjoy the world around me and make music and write stories.
Thanks for stopping by.
